Please follow these guidelines for paper formatting:
Borders: you must have a one inch border one each side. Your word document should already be preset for this, so you should not have to worry about changing it.
Type & Font: Use Times New Roman font, size 12. Between all of my classes, I can sometimes read up to a hundred or more papers a week, so I cannot be reading papers with different fonts and of different type sizes, or I'd go blind, as would most teachers, which is why the type and font is uniform throughout.
Double Space: please use double space for your paper, not single or 1 1/2 space. This helps me from going blind after reading so many papers and also allows me to make comments within the body of your paper, which I cannot do if you turn in a single-spaced paper.
For additional guidelines on how to format your papers, how to quote, how to do parenthetical citations and works cited, see some example pages from a sample paper. This paper does not have examples for every situation, so you MUST utilize your Writer's Resource text to also guide you, when it comes time to cite sources. And again, the Writing Center is also an excellent resource for guidance on writing, though they will not tell you how to write your paper or how to cite, but rather guide you in the process of writing, help you locate sources, and help you better understand the overall concepts.
