Weekly Response #4:

 

DUE NEXT WEEK (October 6th): Create a list of bullet points that summarize, in complete statements, the main argument that both Oates and Roberts make about “issue-oriented” art.  

 

  • Your first couple of bullet points for each author should summarize her main argument. 
  • All subsequent bullet points should summarize the major points that each author makes within her essay that supports her main argument. 
  • Make sure that each bulleted statement or sentence is complete and in your own words.
  • Do not simply create a list of bullet points with a quote from each author. 
  • Draw lines or make notes as to which bullet points (which arguments and/or major points that each author makes) speak to one another (either agreeing/disagreeing or elaborating upon each other). 
  • Be prepared to discuss your comparison/contrast in class.   

** Always, always back up your thoughts with some example, quote, or explanation.
